Join the volunteer team here at Lazy J Rescue Ranch where you'll have the opportunity to make a real impact in the lives of the rescued animals who call Lazy J Rescue Ranch their forever home. Your contributions will be invaluable in ensuring our animals' well-being and the bonds & connections you'll build with these animals, who have overcome adversity, will leave you feeling completely fulfilled. Volunteers are given the ability to participate in as many different aspects of our sanctuary as they'd like. 

 

What are some of the opportunities volunteers are able to participate in at Lazy J Rescue Ranch?

• Routine Chores/Animal Cares - feeding, watering, health checks, administering medications, grooming, maintaining clean barns/stalls/bowls/troughs, providing fresh bedding, etc. 

• Direct Animal Interactions - providing cuddles/pets/love, promoting enrichment activities, engaging in play, giving treats, aiding in socialization, etc. 

• Building Maintenance/Yard Work/Gardening - fixing/upgrading buildings/stalls/fences/gates, mowing, moving snow, picking up rocks/sticks/trash/treasures/poop, planting/maintaining flower beds & vegetable gardens, etc. 

• Fundraisers/Special Events - seeking out sponsorships/donations, planning fundraisers/events, helping as needed at various fundraisers, events, private visits, open visit days, etc. 

• Other - If you have another way of volunteering your time/expertise in mind, please feel free to contact us about the special skill you are interested in sharing with the animals here at the ranch!

 

What is required to become a volunteer at Lazy J Rescue Ranch?

• All volunteer applicants must complete the application linked here. Please note that filling out an application does not guarantee acceptance into the volunteer program.

• Once the application has been approved and the applicant has been contacted by LJRR, they will be required to complete an orientation and tour at the ranch.

• Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older to volunteer independently or at least 12 years of age to volunteer with a parent/guardian present at all times.

• All volunteers under the age of 18 must have a parent/guardian signature of consent/permission (located within the application). 

• Most importantly the applicant must be passionate about animals, committed to helping animals in need, and prepared to embark on an extremely rewarding (but difficult at times) experience!

• Additional requirements will be reviewed during orientation.
